About the artist
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." - Albert Einstein, 1931
Margrit Schwarz is a fine art photographer working at the intersection of art and science. A scientist by training, her journey as a self-taught artist was winding, yet always informed by her scientific intellect and imagination. Forever fascinated by shapes, forces, and patterns in both natural and urban environments, she uses in-camera multiple exposure techniques to create images that convey a sense of transition and motion, reflecting her impressions of life and its encounters in a rapidly changing world. Scale and context are deliberately absent from many of her images, inviting the viewer to explore their own perceptions of reality.
